Throughout the year in Spain you can enjoy the many recurring festivals. For example, the guitar festival, theater and film festival. The Holy Week is an important Catholic festival and takes place around Easter. February is in many regions the carnival month and in March is traditionally the annual marathon of Barcelona instead. Important events are also the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Vuelta, this is the cycling tour of Spain and of course bullfighting culminating with the bull run through the streets of Pomplona in the north. In August, the Assumption is celebrated throughout the country and 12 October has been declared a national holiday.
